An Introduction to Sanskrit Sounds and Calligraphy

Sanskrit study traditionally begins with mastering sounds, as each letter represents a specific vibrational quality linked to the body's energy centers. This course comprehensively introduces alphabet formation, classification, and pronunciation through the three sessions.

COURSE OUTLINE
Core Lessons:
  •  Alphabet formation and classification
  • Vowels, consonants, and pronunciation
  • Chanting and mantra application
  • Visual and auditory guides to mastering the syllabary and mantras
3 Sessions conducted over 2 dates
Session 1: Sacred Vowel Sounds of the Sanskrit Alphabet 
A joyful initiation into sacred language and ancient alphabets. Learn the basic, short, long, and compound vowels, the five mouth positions, and how to resonate these sacred sounds.
 
Session 2: Sacred Consonant Sounds of the Sanskrit Alphabet
Deepen your practice by learning to pronounce and write Sanskrit consonants. Discover how to use the mouth as an instrument to shift energy through precise mouth positioning.
 
Session 3: Vocalising the Energy Body
In this final session, you will integrate your knowledge to read, write, and pronounce full Sanskrit words. We will specifically explore the “seed” sounds associated with the chakras.

    Payment
    Full course fee is payable at time of enrolment.

    Transfers
    Transfers notified less than 5 full working days prior to the course commencement date will incur a transfer fee equal to 10% of the full course fee.

    In courses where prerequisites do not apply, a substitute may be sent in your place if you are unable to attend. Transfer conditions apply to substitutions.

    No transfers will be processed after course commencement.

    Cancellations
    Cancellations notified less than 5 full working days prior to the course commencement date will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the full course fee.

    No refunds will be issued after course commencement.

    General
    Shanti Yoga Centre reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course that does not have sufficient enrolment numbers or in the event of unforeseen circumstances. A refund or alternative courses will be offered. Health Institute Australia also reserves the right to change course details.

    Flexible delivery courses may have different conditions of enrolment.

    Certificates
    For certain courses, upon satisfactory completion of course requirements, and a minimum of 80% attendance, students will be issued a Shanti Yoga Centre Statement of Attendance.

    For courses that contain an accredited unit, 100% attendance is required and students will be issued a Statement of Attainment once a successful pass mark is recorded.
