Certificate IV in Yoga – Melbourne
Begin the journey of Yoga Teacher Training, and get your Certificate IV in Yoga from the Health Institute Australasia without leaving Melbourne. In cooperation with the Southern Yoga Health Centre in Moorabbin, Victoria, or a teacher of your choice (registered with a bona fide Yoga Association), you can now do your fundamental classroom practice in Melbourne.Mandatory Classroom Attendance
We offer 3 options for mandatory classroom practice (see below for more details). One option is for 40 weeks (4 consecutive terms, each of 10 weeks duration) of classroom practice at Southern Yoga Health Centre in Moorabbin, Victoria; this will be included in your course fees. Health Institute Australasia will provide all course material and optional Skype tutorials. We also provide a free gift. See below for more details.
If you do not opt for classes at Southern Yoga Centre, nor any other Yoga Studio in Melbourne (for instance if you live in Country Victoria), then you may study online. In addition to online studies, you are required to do one face-to-face weekend of intensive study and one week of practice with Shantiji and team, on the Gold Coast. We will provide your return airfare (Melbourne-Gold Coast/Brisbane), 2 nights shared accommodation and 6 vegetarian meals and tuition at our Nirvana Wellness Retreat, and a week on the mat, in our Shanti Yoga Centre at Southport, with homestay or camping in the Centre itself. Date to be decided by mutual agreement.
Our Certificate IV in Yoga will help you cultivate a healthy body and a clear mind through the Shanti Yoga method of integrated yoga practice. It is suitable for both beginners and those who are experienced in yoga practice.
Nationally and Internationally Recognized Qualifications
Our yoga teacher training courses are fully compliant with the Australian Skills Quality Authority. This means that your qualifications are recognised Australia-wide and beyond. A Certificate IV is the first step towards gaining a Diploma. To become a fully qualified yoga instructor, students must complete the Diploma of Yoga Teaching. Course duration:
The duration of your Certificate IV in Yoga by correspondence is a maximum of 12 months, and another 12 months maximum for the Diploma, and another 12 months maximum for the Advanced Diploma; the actual duration depends on how quickly you wish to complete your qualification.
In this distance-learning course, there is no fixed starting date, no requirement for class attendance, you can study at your own pace and you have the flexibility to extend your completion after the 1st year for an additional 2 years.

Modules are presented sequentially, and include a list of questions/tasks/projects to be submitted by email upon completion of the particular subject. Upon The Health Institute Australasia receiving your homework, our qualified assessors will mark your papers and if deemed satisfactory, will open up the next module. These accrue towards a competency-based assessment. The turn around time allowed for the assessment of your work could be up to 3 weeks.
You will have to sit a Final exam which will include questions from all the Units of Competency.

This course helps you deepen your own practices and understanding of the philosophy and psychology of Yoga. It is suitable for both beginners and those who are experienced in yoga practice.
Commence your formal studies with yoga for self-maintenance and establish the foundational curriculum and groundwork for all subsequent training. The Certificate IV in Yoga course is the foundation for a progressive, deep, exploration program of yoga and yourself. Classroom Training:
You will have 1 week of unlimited attendance at our Shanti Yoga Gold Coast studio. Currently, there are 23 classes in a week which correspondence students can attend.
Online Lectures and tutorials, topics include:
Residential weekend yoga retreats ‘Living Yoga’ of psycho-spiritual development
which include shared accommodation, delicious vegetarian meals, program and yoga duties.
Experience the transition from practising yoga to living yoga. All weekends at our Nirvana Wellness Retreat include Friday evening pranayama (breathwork), early morning meditation and/or yoga and sat sung (discourse and discussion), Saturday afternoon yoga nidra (deep relaxation), an evening program such as kirtan (chanting), Shanti yoga, spiritual cinema, nature walks, the opportunity to be involved in the farm experience, twin-shared accommodation, delicious Ayurvedic, vegetarian meals and karma yoga, the art of performing actions without expectations.

You will receive a Certificate IV in Yoga at the completion of your course. A Certificate IV is required before you can proceed to earning a Diploma. It does not qualify you to be a yoga teacher, but is a required preparation for a Diploma course.
